Recycled Rescue

I've really become interested in exploring low environmental impact materials and sculpting methods. As careful as we are in our house, we still have so much paper move through. The junkmail never stops, and what to do with old magazines like National Geographic? I started experimenting with molded papier-mâché, but couldn't get the strength I needed. A fellow sculptor, Timothy Nimmo, who has lots of experience with different materials, worked up a recipe using mulched paper, plaster, and white glue- light weight and environmentally friendly. I can mold these and then apply cut or torn pieces of old paper to achieve different color and texture effects... wherever my mood at the moment is taking me. So each of these pieces is an original.

Why Recycled Rescue? Well, I'm rescuing material that would otherwise become trash. But as many people already know, all our dogs are rescues themselves, and I'm very involved with dog rescue organizations. So this Dane really is a rescue, and every month I'm donating one to a rescue group for their fundraising. Price list.
